Griffin, Wing, and Kinnard continue RTF legacy in Northeast Wisconsin TV.

Three UW-Oshkosh Radio-TV-Film graduates have been making waves at TV stations across the state.

As first reported by Shane Nyman on UW-Oshkosh today, three UWO grads have been dominating sports news in Wisconsin. Burke Griffin, Ryan Wing and Brandon Kinnard graduated from the Radio-TV-Film, or RTF, program in 1995, 2009 and 2014 respectively.

They have each said that TV sports in Wisconsin, both in front of the camera and behind it, are littered with Oshkosh grads.

Ryan Wing said that coming out of the program is a point of pride, and whenever he sees someone with UWO on their resume, he knows that they have what it takes to succeed. Wing is the current sports director at WLUK Fox 11 in Green Bay. His career has led him to Wausau, then to Bend, Oregon, then finally back to Green Bay where he took on sports reporting, anchoring and eventually directing duties in 2018.

Burke Griffin has been in the TV sports game for 27 years, which eventually led him to his current position of sports director at WFRV Channel 5. He has led the five person sports team in Green Bay for the last 10 years, after moving up the ranks throughout the station.

Brandon Kinnard now works at WGBA NBC 26 as sports director, following stints in Wausau and North Dakota, where he gained experience as a play-by-play announcer on TV and in radio.

All three men credit the RTF department for preparing them after graduation, and the excellence and success of the program can be seen in them and other graduates, all throughout the state.
