Jalen Hurts recently signed a massive contract with the Philadelphia Eagles for $179,304,000 guaranteed. $51 million a year is an absurd amount of money. But has Jalen Hurts proven his worth? He was the leader in the Eagles dynamic offensive scheme last year. He threw for 3,701 yards, had 22 touchdowns, and only 6 interceptions. I must admit he only had 2 years as a starter in Philadelphia, yet he shined and is one of the best QB’s in the game.
I think Jalen Hurts is worth that money and more. What he did last year for turn the Eagles franchise around is crazy. He led the Eagles to Super Bowl LVII where he generated 374 yards and 4 touchdowns. He even set the record for most yards rushing ever in a Super Bowl. Not only does he have an endless ceiling, but he is also only 24! The Eagles have Hurts until 2028 which means if he’s healthy, he will be reliable.
In back-to-back seasons, Hurts has rushed for at least 760 yards and 10 touchdowns. His run game is good, but his on-the-run passing is even better. Overall, I like the contract that Eagles general manger Howie Roseman gave Hurts and I am excited to see what he can bring to the table next year.
