Severe Weather Awareness Week is April 4-8.

The state of Wisconsin will conduct its annual tornado drill next week as a part of Severe Weather Awareness Week.

Wisconsin saw 41 confirmed tornadoes in 2021 and averages 23 annually according to The National Weather Service.

The yearly campaign encourages everyone to practice and put a plan into place for when Wisconsin experiences severe storms during the Spring and Summer months.

The tornado drills are scheduled for Thursday, April 7.

The following schedule will be in place unless actual severe weather is impacting Wisconsin.

1:45 p.m. Mock Tornado Warning.

2:00 p.m. End of Mock Tornado Warning.

6:45 p.m. Mock Tornado Warning.

7:00 p.m. End of Mock Tornado Warning.

WRST will have reminders throughout the week on both 90.3 FM and wrst.org regarding the tornado drills in Winnebago County.
