Illinois State’s Seon-Yoon Chung has been selected to be the new dean of
the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s college of nursing.
Following a nationwide search, Dr. Seon-Yoon Chung will take on the role of dean
of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s college of nursing.
Chung is currently
the associate dean in the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University
in Normal.
Dr. Chung is a registered nurse in both Illinois and Maryland and is a
certified nurse educator and healthcare simulation educator.
UWO Chancellor Andy Leavitt believes Dr. Chung will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help the College of Nursing faculty and staff members to enhance student success, and looks forward to welcoming her to the University later this year.
Dr. Chung says she looks forward to meeting, working with and contributing to the UWO community.
Associate professor Bonnie Nickasch, who has served as the College of Nursing’s
interim dean since July 2nd, 2021, will remain until Dr. Chung’s arrives on July 1st
during this coming summer.
